CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — The Gulf Coast Humane Society is seeking public support for the medical care of a severely neglected young dog discovered in Corpus Christi.
The dog, identified as Trixie, arrived at the shelter with extensive matting and severe skin conditions. Medical staff report the animal’s skin was raw and bleeding from self-inflicted scratching, accompanied by significant dead skin buildup.
Veterinarians at the facility note that given Trixie’s young age, her condition indicates prolonged neglect. The extent of her injuries requires extensive medical treatment before she can be considered for adoption.
The Gulf Coast Humane Society is accepting donations to support Trixie’s ongoing medical care and recovery. The shelter, located in Corpus Christi, continues to investigate the circumstances that led to the dog’s condition.
Those interested in contributing to Trixie’s care can make donations directly through the Gulf Coast Humane Society of Corpus Christi.
