But if it hadn’t been for one animal advocate, this story could have turned tragic.
Their so-called “dog dad” allegedly dumped them in a very rural beach area on North Padre Island (an area full of coyotes, salt water, and dunes.) But then the suspect got the shock of a lifetime.
A person reportedly caught him in the act and then, with the phone recording, took this video of him driving away from the scene of the crime.
Animal advocates tell me 38-year-old Brent McCaleb of North Padre Island, Corpus Christi, Texas is the suspect. They tell me he had this sign out—at first—trying to sell the puppies. But apparently, that didn’t work. Other advocates say he’s tried to sell puppies before.
