A SMALL WIN – BUT A LONG ROAD AHEAD.
After a resident walked into the Marlin, Texas animal shelter in January, 2024, he found one dog dead and countless others thirsty, hungry and living in their own waste.
If it had not have been for the animal advocates in Marlin and the outlying area, this WOULD have been SWEPT UNDER THE RUG.
Most importantly, Falls County D.A. Jody Gilliam refused to call for an outside investigation.
But the animal advocates seem to have outsmarted their own district attorney after getting the information into the hands of the Governor and then into the hands of the Texas Rangers.
Then just the other day, a grand jury indicted the police chief, the former animal control officer, and the animal control officer before that.
But this win is just a win. For there to really be justice, people have to pack the courtroom for these 3 EACH AND EVERY TIME.
As soon as I have court information, YOU will get it to let others know when and where.
This ALMOST got swept under the rug. Please don’t let that happen. It’s up to all of us.
