Deputies kill black cat on shooting range telling witness that cat was being destructive. Deputies not charged under California law that criminalizes maliciously killing an animal. Kern County Sheriff Donny Youngblood says he disciplined the deputies but wouldn’t say how because of the Peace Officer’s Bill of Rights.
Chief Vincent, along with his handler, Officer Daniel Zeigler, and another officer, reportedly buried K-9 Horus with Zeigler’s family present as well.
Police said he gave a full confession of kicking the dog in the doorbell. He’s now charged with 1 count of animal cruelty and now free on bond.
