K9 COVERUP? The alleged cover-up in Savannah, Missouri. K-9 Horus was found unresponsive in his handler’s patrol vehicle. Then, with the police chief saying time was of the essence, they dug a hole and buried the K-9.
No marker, no ceremony, no nothing. No one notified the community, but within days, local animal advocates found out, made a makeshift memorial, an anonymous donor paid for a headstone, and they’re still waiting on a ceremony Chief David Vincent promised them. That was back in June. Since then, the Missouri Highway Patrol has completed its investigation, and the case is now in the hands of a special prosecutor at the Missouri Attorney General’s Office.
Chief Vincent, along with his handler, Officer Daniel Zeigler, and another officer, reportedly buried K-9 Horus with Zeigler’s family present as well. As for Zeigler, he is still on paid administrative leave, all this time later. Time now to have your voice heard. The Missouri Attorney General’s Office. Justice for K-9 Horus.
