More shocking video has surfaced of veteran K-9 handler Paula Hall and her behavior toward a dog at an American Kennel Club event, a story first reported in September.
The AKC has since fined and suspended Hall, but this isnât her first controversy. Just a week before the latest incident, Hall was caught on camera displaying similar troubling behavior in the ring.
The video, described as shocking and disturbing, shows Hall interacting with Sparty, her Doberman, in what some witnesses called âfighting in the ring.â Onlookers, including Janet Parker, reported hearing Hall slap the dog. Parker attempted to rally support for Sparty, but other witnesses refused to speak out, citing fear of retaliation.
Hall claimed her actions were a correction after Sparty growled. However, the AKC sustained the complaint, though the handling of the matter was criticized. Parker reported being pressured by club officials not to release details, raising questions about AKC protocol.
Dog enthusiasts say Hallâs behavior isnât new, alleging she believes herself untouchable. The AKC emphasized they do not tolerate such behavior and hope not to encounter similar issues in the future.
Details on Hallâs suspension length and fine remain unclear, but she has the right to appeal. Attempts to contact Hall have gone unanswered.
BREAKING NEWS in the case of a former Missouri police officer in connection with the death of his K-9 partner. Local media is reporting that former Savannah, Missouri, police sergeant Daniel Zeigler entered a not-guilty plea in Buchanan County court earlier today. On June 20, Zeigler not only left his K-9 partner, Horus, in their police vehicle, but he also turned off a backup system that would have alerted him and, at the very least, opened the windows of the vehicle. Zeigler reportedly discovered K-9 Horus 12 hours later in the hot car.
The backstory? Zeigler found Horus, called Chief David Vincent, and then Zeigler, the chief, and another individual took Horus from Zeigler’s house to city-owned land, dug a hole, and buried him. No one informed the community. Several days later, the chief announced the news, saying Horus had died due to complications from being left in a car after an overnight shift. Zeigler was put on paid administrative leave 11 days later.
A group of animal advocates fought to obtain information about Horus crossing the rainbow bridge and to learn the location of the burial. They then made a makeshift memorial. Later, an anonymous donor provided a headstone for Horus, and a service was heldâall organized by the animal advocates. Without them, these tributes would not have happened. City officials have claimed that no coverup was intended and that they were simply in shock.
Zeigler’s next court date is set for November 5, for a trial setting, as Zeigler seeks a change of venue, aiming for a place where he believes he can receive an impartial juryâsomething he contends may not be possible in the Savannah area.

Breaking news on the UPS delivery driver out of Iowa and the incident with that driver. Even though UPS has, so far, refused to acknowledge this case publicly, I spoke with Little Bear’s mom, who tells me that a short time ago, UPS called her to let her know the driver had been disciplined. They didn’t say how but did apologize. Little Bear’s mom then received an anonymous call stating the employee had been fired. That employee, caught on Little Bear’s mom’s Ring doorbell camera last Tuesday, shows what we believe to be former UPS driver Dennis Huebert of Denison, Iowa, jerking and pulling Little Bear’s tether for what appears to be no reason.
