With no choice but to surrender Minnie to the Humane Society of Greater Niagara, he carried her dog tags as a daily reminder of their bond. Minnie, meanwhile, endured life in a shelter, longing for a home.

This August, hope prevailed. After being declared cancer-free, her owner rushed to the shelter, discovering Minnie was still waiting. Their emotional reunion marked the end of their separation and the beginning of a new chapter together.

750 days later, Minnie is home. A love that never gave up.

Critical Time for Emaciated Owner Surrendered Dog

An update now on Kiki, the boxer who was surrendered by her owner after animal advocates witnessed her condition.

This is in Broadway, North Carolina.

Look at this sweet girl—she’s emaciated, not even half the weight she should be. Kiki has a long road ahead, and her condition is critical.

Animal advocate Michelle Leigh tells us Kiki’s kidney values are very concerning. She’s not eating and is under veterinary care, where she’s undergoing testing, including an SDMA test, to help pinpoint the problem.

Meanwhile, the Harnett County Sheriff’s Office has launched an investigation into her owner. No charges have been filed yet. We’ve reached out to the sheriff’s office and are waiting to hear back.

Lots of Interest in Trooper the Dog But What About All The Other Cats and Dogs at Leon Co Shelter?

By now, so many of us have heard the story of Trooper. The dog found tied to a fence on a busy Tampa, Florida area road with the water rising and nearly up to his neck. A Florida Highway Patrol Trooper rescued then later named “Trooper” and he was taken to the Leon County Humane Society in Tallahassee, far away from the real danger zones. He was never returned to his owner. The Humane Society reports they’re getting so many calls about Trooper and people wanting to adopt him but that got me thinking. If there are all these calls about Trooper, what about the other cats and dogs? Here are a few of the recent intakes. Please think about calling about them.
