One dog shot and killed by Walton County Sheriff’s Office, Florida deputy. Another dog made a run for it.
Audio obtained by therealpaulmueller.com has a deputy’s voice and another voice. We have been told one voice is Deputy Hutto.
The Sheriff’s Office says his use of force was justified but the behavior and language are a major concern as the investigation continues.
Here’s the word from the Sheriff’s Office:
The Walton County Sheriff’s Office (WCSO) released a statement regarding an August 15th fire on Mixon Road in Mossy Head. At 5:39 am, a 911 call reported a large fire with explosions. Walton County Fire Rescue arrived at 5:46 am but was blocked by two aggressive dogs. The dogs attacked firefighters, preventing access to the property. A deputy arrived and unsuccessfully tried to scare off the dogs with a taser and verbal commands. Eventually, the deputy killed one dog while missing the second with two additional shots.”
WCSO deemed the use of force justified, as the dogs hindered emergency response efforts. However, the deputy’s behavior and language post-shooting are under investigation, as they do not align with WCSO’s values. The agency is reviewing the incident and requests the community’s patience.
